MY SICK BROOKLYN

My poor Brooklyn was so so sick last week. In her short life she really has only had a cold once and hand, foot and mouth, which didn't bother her too much. Rob, Lydia and I were all super sick but it seemed Brooklyn was going to miss it until she came down with a fever. It started Monday night at her soccer practice she was super winey and running slow. After I took her to get fro yo but she kept saying she was cold and wanted to go home. Once we got home, I felt her head and she was on fire! We gave her baby tylenol and put her to bed. She woke up the next morning, same thing. By the evening we started getting concerned. Eventually her fever got up to 104.5. That was enough for us to bring her to the ER. We thought she must have strep throat or an ear infection. To our surprise she was looking good. The physician said  to bring her home that it must be viral. Next day, same thing. And by the evening, same thing. Except she was saying it hurt when she peed and it felt itchy. I had left for the evening for an early work meeting in Eureka so Rob brought her back to the ER. They discovered after blood work and urine samples she had a UTI! Her body was so hot trying to fight the infection and all she really needed were some antibiotics. We were so thankful to have an answer. It was a really scary two days.

LISA AND JON VISIT

My sister Lisa and her boyfriend Jon came out to visit for a whole week! Jon started a new job and had training in Mountain View. Lisa works for Oracle and their headquarters are in Redwood Shores so she stayed with us and worked during the week. It was so much fun for her to hang out after work each night. Having my sister here of course made me really homesick and wish I lived close by my family. {sigh} We spent both weekends in San Francisco being touristy. I really think they should just move here, I could get use to sister sister time every night!

49ers RUSH

I have loved running my entire life. When I moved to California I was introduced to racing which I immediately loved. I have always shared this with Rob but to my disappointment he HATES running. After several years of reminding him how fun (and good work out) running is I gave him the bug! He realized he could squeeze some good workouts in by running through our neighborhood and I think actually started to like it. I kept showing him races I wanted to do but he wasn't interested. Then one day about 2 months ago he called me and said he signed us up for a 49ers 5k. I literally almost started crying tears of joy. It was one of the greatest phone calls I have ever received. We ran the race yesterday and had an absolute blast! The race weaved through the different parts of the stadium including the players practice field and even where the players park their cars. We ended the race on the field. I had an ear to ear smile the entire time. It was such a fun morning with my husband!

^^his first race, ever! (i'm 24 weeks pregnant here)
