I love all things shabby chic. Shabby chic is white rose pink and beige tones with distressed looking, French-style items. It first started my freshmen year in college when our six friends decided that would be the theme for our apartment the following year. When I moved to California I made it the theme of my first bedroom in a shared house. When Brooklyn was born we decorated her room with lots of shabby chic influences. Now, I have taken a shabby chic photo shoot for her upcoming birthday that will have a (you guessed it!) shabby chic theme.
She actually smiles on command now and understand when we are taking her pictures. Its maybe one of the cutest things ever!
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! I especially wanted to honor mine and my husband! It is so much fun seeing Rob with Brooklyn and all the tender moments they have together. One of the things I love best is he will go into her room after I put her down for the night and talk to her a little bit before she goes to sleep. He also rushes to her crib to get her out of bed in the morning because he likes her to see his face first. He is so involved and I think a little jealous she says mama a lot more than dada. The older kids- Brielle, Sawyer and Drew admire and love more fiercely. I have never seen kids get so excited to see their dad or want those special moments with him. I love to watch him interact with those three and imagine the beautiful relationship he will continue with our children when they grow older. This amazing man is balancing being a dad of four and almost five so well. I love you Rob and even more now that your a dad!

Last but not least a picture of me and my dad! Some of the best things he taught me is sports, finances, business and a desire to succeed. Happy Father's day to the best dad in the world, I'm really lucky to have you!
I tried to make every touch special and began with a home made cake, ice-cream and a get together with friends Friday night at our house. We sat around eating cake and talking about all of our favorite Rob memories which actually turned pretty hilarious.
Saturday morning he spent golfing with friends while I ran around like a mad woman assembling his gift. We dropped Brooklyn off at my in-laws and headed into San Francisco for a surprise day I had planned for him. We had such a blast riding around the city in go cars, sight seeing all the different beaches, golden gate park and the bridge of course! We went back to the hotel and hung out a little while before dinner at Gary Dankos. Yes, I made reservations three months in advance, kind of insane. After dinner we went back to the hotel and rented a movie, of Rob's choice of course before drifting off to sleep.
Sunday we got to sleep in before driving to Danville to meet his parents and Brooklyn for church and then a family dinner/ party with the whole gang to celebrate his actual birthday. He discovered his birthday gift when he pulled into the garage: a grill, which I (almost all the way) assembled myself, some fancy bed sheets he wanted and an iTunes gift card. Pretty perfect birthday weekend if you ask me.
